Durant les 5 dernières années, la page mensuelle qui m’a le plus intéressée est l’éditorial de John Wenzel dans le Poker Pro Magazine. Chaque mois j’y ai apprend quelque chose de nouveau, d’intéressant et de varié. John couvre l’actualité, la morale, la technique … et l’intelligente approche d’un vrai pro de poker. Jamais, durant ces 5 ans, je n’ai même imaginé que John pourrait illustrer un jour mon poker d’au delà de l’Atlantique.

Et un jour, son éditorial est arrivé. Illustrée et peinte en quelques lignes à peine, j’ai pu lire toute ma vie de poker. Tout ce que j’ai essayé de communiquer tout au long d’innombrables pages, John l’a décrit en ces quelques mots. Comme toujours, il a tout compris … ! Son esprit de concision approche le génie … Je lis ma propre vie au poker et ma philosophie du jeu mieux que je n’ai jamais pu la décrire.

John a un jour écrit la meilleure définition du pro de poker : il doit en vivre, donc tout simplement être bénéficiaire chaque année … ce qu’il accomplit avec régularité. Comme je ne suis pas pro, mais heureux retired, fan de poker, comme des millions de joueurs passionné par le roi de tous les jeux. John a merveilleusement décrit ce qui doit être le plus important pour nous tous : have fun at the tables et puis … jouer de mieux en mieux pour que notre fun se suffise à lui-même à tous points de vue.

John, tous les bads beats du monde n’ont désormais plus de prise sur moi : je n’ai qu’à relire ta page et oui, je vais continuer à être heureux " to be able to compete " et " adore my new poker life " For my eternity !

Thank you John ! Grâce à toi j’apprécie, plus encore, le privilege de m’envoler pour la Las Vegas.

Dear Pierre,
Given the opportunity to write you a letter, I didn’t have think long before opening my notepad. I’d like to kick off by telling you, you are truly an inspiration for me as I dream to play an EPT myself one day. It is amazing to see how you have qualified online for so many EPTs so far and it seems to me the list will only grow longer in the future. Besides your obvious poker skills, I (and many others with me) also appreciate your persona which is very relaxed and friendly both at and away from the tables. It is people like you who are truly a blessing for the increasingly positive image of poker. Pokerstars has correctly realized this as well granting you the ‘friend of Pokerstars’ title.
But on to business now, as writing you a letter also gives me the chance to ask you some questions. First off, do you think qualifying for an EPT through the Pokerstars steps program is worth the try knowing that with my bankroll I’ll have to start at step A, B or C? Or should I focus on building my bankroll way up and then eventually play the satellites (with higher buy-ins) which grant several packages and are played with much more players? Apart from that I also wonder what you valued most to improve your poker game when you were playing poker the first few years. Was it reading books, talking with other players, perhaps coaching sessions,… or do you feel that in the end, it is playing the game a lot which will help you most?
My final two questions concern winning a live tournament and what to do with the money. I wonder which live tournament, you would like to win the most and why (I’m expecting one of the EPTs here, but surprise me should I be wrong)? And finally, following the previous question, do you have a certain dream (making a trip around the world, buying something special,…) you would fulfil with the money you would win?
It was a pleasure writing you this letter and it would be great to receive some answers. Nonetheless, I wish you the very best both in life and poker and hope to see you play many more EPTs. And although I am also a fan of the Belgian young poker guns (like Kevin Vandersmissen, the De Meulder twins,…) it would be epic to see you take down an EPT as first Belgian ever.

Bon dommage évidemment de sortir QQ vs 86 - 57X9X ... après onze heure d'une belle bataille, mais bon un bel ITM, en restant le dernier du team Pokerstars dans le tournoi !

En fait deux ITM SCOOP sur 2 cette nuit ! J'aurais tort de me plaindre, très agréable cette formule big antes qui oblige à aller prendre beaucoup de pots ! Mais en poker; il y a toujours mieux ... pour notre plaisir ... ou nos désirs de paradis !

Après un comeback incroyable au 2e jour pour passer cette bulle infernale, Pierre commence le 3e jour sur les chapeau de roues !

Après un double up à la 40e minute;

Level 16: 2,500-5,000, 500 ante After cracking aces with ace king on Day 1, then making quads against the nut full house on day 2, we were wondering what Shander de Vries had in store for us today on Day 3. "Royal flush?" he said hopefully as he began to stack his now unbagged chips. It did not take long for him to get involved in the action...
The Dutchman had raise to 10,000 preflop with Pierre Neuville moving all in for 115,000 behind, a quick recheck of the cards and de Vries called with AJ only to find himself dominated by the Belgian's AQ . The flop came 42Q and Neuville did a weird little dance and although the 3 turn brought chop outs, the river was the 7 and the latter doubled up to about 240,000.

Pierre se lance dans un coup qui aurait pu l'amener à 400.000 ... !

The dream, this season, is over for Pierre Neuville and he leaves with a bitter-sweet taste in his mouth.
I caught him on his way out and he explained that he lost after Domantas Klimciauskas hit a two-outer on him. Neuville had ace-queen on AQ8X board and this is where all the chips went in. The Belgian was in great shape against Klimciauskas's ace-eight but powerless to the eight that fell on the river.

Pierre termine donc à la 85e place de cette finale de l EPT 7.

Une journée de record dans l'autre sens ... zero chip avec mes cartes montrées, mais zero bad call ! Juste coup hors du commun dont le dernier d'antologie contre Barry Greenstein ... pour sauver la journée malgré tout.

Dimanche Bram Luyten, qui anime l'excellente Radio Rail Poker, commentait en direct ma qualification pour Madrid sur Pokerstars; Ils suivaient ma table avec 288 auditeurs ... J'avais le plaisir de jouer at home devant une tribune de fans ... c'était du poker merveilleux ... le stade chez soi le dimanche soir.

Mon sac Pokerstars de la qualification Madrid la 23em, symbole du record, fera partie de l'histoire belge du poker ... j'aurais voulu leur en offrir un à chaque auditeur mais il fallait choisir. Bram Luyten décida alors de faire un concours: l'auteur de la plus belle lettre de fan à Pierre Neuville gagnerait le sac Pokerstars de la qualification à Madrid ... les Tee shirt, la veste Pokerstars ...et tous les petits cadeaux que les qualifiés reçoivent !

J'ai été très touché à la lecture de ces lettres, admiratif aussi des connaissances précises des fans de poker ... je les emporte pour les relire dans l'avion pour Madrid ... merveilleuse préparation à ce tournoi avant d'affronter tout le gratin mondial.

Hier avait lieu le dernier step G de la saison 7 EPT; step G 9 joueurs y compris le leader actuel Martin Jacobson qui essaie désespérément de se qualifier pour Madrid ! Mais Pierre ne laissa à personne cette ultime victoire ... qui cloture cette saison de record ... en confirmant la qualification pour Madrid.

Petite news rapide pour vous laisser mon dernier ( et meilleur ) ranking online sur 120 jours !

Retour précipité de la côte d'azur ! Que des mauvaises rencontres; QQ vs KK suivi de KK vs AA et donc pas meme un 2e jour !
