Event N°31 : Result
By Pierre Neuville aka The Serial PokerStars Qualifier, Tuesday 17 June 2008 at 11:00 :: WSOP 2008
Today, recent world champions Greg Raymer (fossil man), Joe Achem and probably the best of them all, Barry Greenstein, were amongst the 600 players that were eliminated before me in the tournament! That essentially made my day, as well as ending a good 392th out of the initial 1012 participants.
This 6 handed game was a constant fight, much more rhythm then a 10 player game, we only get half the opponents! Throughout the whole day, not a single pair held up, 33, 55 and ending with a 88 against A6 for the young Australian champion Mark Vos, getting AAx on the flop. An ongoing survival play since no good flop, no double pairs, not even a set or better. In the end, its all part of the game, the cards don’t always end up as you want them to.
It’s a real pleasure to not having to watch these players on TV screens but actually sitting around me, all of them.
In regards to my current results, it does not seem impossible to improve my results in the coming days to get warmed up for the world championship (event 54).
I will keep you informed of my next participation in the coming days by tomorrow.
